This is the first time I try
to create a travel blog. My first travel blog is Tagum City. Tagum City has so
many tourist spots. Tagum City is located on the northern shoreline of Davao
Gulf in Southern Mindanao Island. Tagum City has 23 barangays covering an land
area of 195.8 square kilometers. Among the three cities of Davao del Norte,
Tagum City is the largest term of population.
New Cathedral Christ the King – In
this new Cathedral here you can see the World’s Largest Rosary. Weighing 2,815
kilos, this rosary at the Christ the King Cathedral in City of Tagum, Davao del
Norte, Island Mindanao, Philippines, could make it to the Guinness Book of
World Records as the Largest Roman Catholic Rosary in the whole world.
Banana Festival – The
festival feature street dancing and an agri trade fair to highlight Davao del
Norte as a “banana country”. Banana is the largest economic contribution for
the province and the festival pays tribute to its abundance in the area.
Banana Beach – the
highlight of the resort was fairly good but nothing spectacular. The spot
offered fishing at a stocked lake with a rod available for a reasonable P100
rental fee. The milk fish were plentiful. The jungle forest tour includes
walking through the trees on swaying suspension bridges and exploring at ground
level. There is macaque monkeys and wild boar on the road leading to the jungle
tour. The weak spot of the resort is the beach. It lies just beyond the pool
past a grassy lawn.
Energy Park – currently, 3 offices
are already operational, namely: BFAD Satellite Laboratory for Mindanao, DepEd
Tagum City Division and TESDA Provincial Training Center, while the satellite
offices of PAG_IBIG, GSIS and Phil Health will soon be established. A camping
site as well as an area for agriculture with facilities such as plant nursery,
hydrophonics and laboratory for soil and leaf has been integrated to ensure
efficiency and create a service-oriented and innovative center for excellence.
